Here are some wacky new Combos ads from DDB Chicago—a couple of 15-second spots and a couple of print ads. The work plays off the product name, showing goofy examples of bad "combos" in real life, like a burglar wearing clogs and a zookeeper cleaning a lion's cage in a zebra-patterned T-shirt. The ads then advise you to stick to "good combos," like pizzeria and pretzel in Combos snacks. These are the first ads for the Mars Inc. brand that I can recall seeing since the brand's wonderful Man Mom campaign back in 2007, created by TBWA\Chiat\Day. The new ads—simple and cartoony—are, like Combos themselves, easy to snack on, though perhaps not particularly nourishing. More ads after the jump. UPDATE: There's a third :15, just added after the jump, featuring a tribesman with a bone through his nose, and a dog who wants the bone. Weird. I'd be surprised if this one gets by without getting slammed for being culturally insensitive.
